Scammers may approach you with offers to pay your tuition, usually in exchange for personal information or a "small fee." These offers are fraudulent and can lead to financial loss or identity theft.
Verify Unsolicited Offers: Any offer to pay your tuition should be approached with caution. Verify the legitimacy of such offers through official university channels before proceeding.
Official Payment Channels: Always use the university’s official payment system for your tuition fees. Be wary of requests to use alternative payment methods like wire transfers, gift cards, stolen credit cards or cryptocurrency.
Protect your username/Password: Do not share your username and password with anyone.

Information - Jersey City Tuition & Fee charges
Only students who are admitted to NJIT as Jersey City cohort students will be billed at the Jersey City rate for any class(es) taken at the Jersey City location.
Students enrolled in a program based at the Newark campus will be billed at the Newark campus rate for any class(es) taken at the Jersey City location.*
Students attending NJIT on an F1 Visa may take one (1) course at the Jersey City location.
Students enrolled in a fully online graduate program must take all online courses to qualify for the fully-online per-credit rate.
*Please note that your billing may be adjusted based on the information provided above until the end of the semester’s Add/Drop period.

Additional Information
- Tuition and fees are calculated on a per-credit basis for part-time students (1-11 credits), and at a flat rate for full-time students (12-19 credits)
- Students who are full-time (12-19 credits) and register for additional credits above 19 will be assessed the appropriate per-credit rate for every credit over 19
- For Graduate and Doctorate students, full-time status varies depending on purpose: 12 credits for billing purposes, 9 credits for academic and financial aid purposes
- Full-time students (12 credits or more for Undergraduates, 9 credits or more for Graduate/Doctoral, and 1 or more credits for F1/J1 Visa Holders) will be assessed a Student Health Insurance annual fee in the Fall at a cost of $1,997.00 (*) note that the rates are pending state approval and are subject to change. Students may waive this cost by filling out a health insurance waiver by the posted deadlines. F1/J1 Visa holders are required to have the NJIT Student Health Insurance plan and are not permitted to waive the coverage. - During the Summer & Winter sessions, there is a flat $278.00 / $279.00. University Fee for Graduate and Undergraduate programs respectively in lieu of the fees noted above. The flat rate for tuition (12-19 credits) does not apply during the summer/winter sessions. Late payment fee for winter/summer is $250.00
- Students must take all online courses (excluding Newark online courses) and be enrolled in a fully online graduate program to qualify for the $1,211.00 per credit rate
- The Schedule of Tuition and Fees has been carefully reviewed and has been subject to a public hearing as required by law prior to the approval by NJIT's Board of Trustees.
